Officers were dispatched to Harding Road in Greenwich at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, where there was a report of a crash on the roadway, with the driver of the vehicle running away from the scene.

Shortly after their investigation began, Greenwich Police officers tracked down the driver, a 17-year-old boy, whose name will not be released due to his status as a juvenile offender.

Further investigation determined that the car had been reported stolen in Stamford, and the teenager would later admit that he was driving without a valid driver’s license in any state.

The teenager was arrested and charged with larceny, illegal operation of a motor vehicle without a license, failure to drive in proper lane and evading responsibility for leaving the scene of the crash. He is due in Stamford Superior Court for Juvenile Matters on Sept. 19 to answer the charges.
